11:08 pm - Close to graduating...What am I going to do now?
Seriously, I have no idea. Well, I have ideas, but I have no clue as to whether they're feasible, or even what my chances of survival are. We'll see, I guess, but it's going to be rough.

Still, I never thought I'd make it this far. I'm extremely lucky in the friendships I have, both old and new, who've stuck with me. So to all of you, thanks. Seriously.

As for me now...well, back to studying. I have a comprehensive exam on Wednesday (basically a nice three-hour test on everything I've learned over the past couple years), and an OSCE-styled exam (uh, that'd be the Objectively Structured Certification Examination) that I have to pass to graduate. And then I have to go do the real OSCE exam hosted by the Ontario Government. Fun times. Whoo.

...My neurology exam bent me over the desk this afternoon, and violated my virgin ass. Good God, that was brutal.

This is one exam I definitely don't want to find out how I did on.

12:12 am - And the best man takes it
So we got Rob Ford for Mayor of Toronto.  I guess people here in Toronto are tired of all the usual Liberal (big "L" Liberal) bullshit, no matter what level of government they're at.  Good.

But a warning to Mr. Ford.  Don't fuck this up, or we'll never hear the end of it.

And finally:  I'm off to lurk in the ontd_political comm to see the whiners piss and moan, and possibly come up with wild conspiracy theories because ol' Furious could never lose to *shudder* Rob Ford.

11:09 pm - Wow, long time, no post, eh?
So I should be getting ready to go to sleep - midterm tomorrow, but I just saw this, and I had to say something.

These people hating on Rob Ford because he sticks his foot in his mouth? They can all fuck off. I seriously hope they're not planning on voting for "Furious George" Smitherman, mister I-was-Health-Minister-for-the-Ontario-government-and-managed-to-lose-a-billion-dollars-without-being-able-to-account-for-it, just because he happens to share a sexual orientation with them. I fucking hate that guy, and no, it has nothing to do with his being gay. It's more because he's a complete snake in the grass who'll do anything for power, so long as he benefits from it. Typical Liberal party mindset.

And the people who vote for him because he's gay? If Toronto finds itself so broke it can't even pay attention if that dickhead is voted in as Mayor, we'll have only these dumbass 18-19 year old shitheads who couldn't think their way out a wet paper bag to blame for it. They were too young to remember what the Liberal party's M.O. is, but I'll give it to you straight (no pun intended): Lie your way into office, then send taxes and utility rates sky high, and finally, give yourself a raise or two, because damn it, it's hard work pushing a pencil around a desk all day.

And if anyone is a member of ontd_political, you can go tell poetic_pixie_13 that people bashing the Tamils aren't racists, they're just tired of hearing about how the poor Tamils are so hard up. You got to come to Canada and now you want your Tamil Eelam somewhere here? Fuck you and the Tigers you rode in on.

7:08 pm - Why I'll Never Call Myself a Feminist
Articles like this, in which so many self-described feminists all rally together to kiss 102bb's ass and try to make her feel good about herself. In fact, I'd call it a circle jerk if it weren't pretty much all female (circle-rub, maybe?). I also find it funny that anyone who disagrees is either a) racist, or b) derailing. That's nice. It's like everyone has to subscribe to the same viewpoint, or they're out of the club.

I really can't get behind that kind of deluded bullshit.

*EDIT*

Oh sweet Jesus tapdancing Christ. 102bb is a dude. I can't.....I just can't believe how arrogant this piece of shit is. My god.

*EDIT EDIT*

What the fuck? I really can't tell whether this person is male or female. Either way....a piece of shit is a piece of shit, regardless of whether the reproductive organs are on the inside or the outside.

7:22 pm - Writer's Block: Pet central
Some animal rights activists are fighting to replace the term 'owner' with 'guardian' to convey a more balanced relationship between a person and her or his pet. Do you agree or disagree with the importance of this mission?

....This is not a "mission". I would advise any person who thinks this is a valuable use of their time to go out and eat a bag of expired dicks.

Well, I did my anatomy midterm yesterday, and I got my mark today.

All I can ask is, where's the other 6%? Yep, 94%. Not too shabby, I suppose.

1:31 am
So...school.

Hm.

I'm having a great time, first of all. I love my courses, although some of them seem like learning by firehose, although I'm not having any trouble keeping up. It helps that I'm actually really interested in the subject matter, I guess.

My favourite course so far is probably Regional Anatomy (which, incidentally, is also the most brutal, work-wise. Go figure), but I don't think I actually have a "Least Favourite" class, which is a new experience for me.

Oh well. I'm tired, and I'm going to bed. G'night, all.

12:18 pm - Odd...
I'm feeling an odd mix of excitement and frustration today. Excitement because I'm finally being taken seriously about my lung issues (I had a pulmonary function test last week, and it showed that I do NOT have asthma, so I'm seeing a respirologist at the end of September).

Frustration, because the bureaucrats running the EI (that's Employment Insurance, kind of like UI in the USA) program here apparently have decided to take an extra-long time processing my last report (EI recipients have to report bi-weekly that we're looking for work and employable). I honestly reported that I took a course that was one hour longer during the week I took the course than they usually allow, even though it was during the evening on a Friday and all day on a Saturday, when it's not mandatory that I be looking for work. All told, the course was 3 days long, totalling 19 hours over one weekend, and I needed to take the course to get into the program (which has already been approved by EI) I'm starting on the 31st.

I called them today, to see what the hell was going on. Apparently they have until September 8th to decide whether I'll get my benefits for August 2nd to the 15th or not, and I can't file a report for the next one until that's cleared up. Nice, eh? Gotta love bureaucracy.

In other (better) news:

I got my final grade for the prep course I took. 98%!

1:44 pm - News!
Well...interesting news since my last post.

1. I'm not getting the Sportster after all. The step-father flaked again, and I'm not really all that surprised, to be honest. That bike is his baby, and I can't really fault him for waffling on it.

2. I got my Second Career funding. For those not in the know, or who have forgotten, Second Career is an Ontario Provincial Government initiative for people who have been laid off from their jobs to go back to school and get trained for a better career in a field with a better outlook. I got the full amount, I think. $28,000. Woohoo!

3. I got called back to work. Fortunately for me, they called after I got the call saying I was approved for Second Career. Unfortunately, however, it was only an hour after the first call. I don't think I have to go back to work to keep getting EI benefits because of SC, but I wasn't sure, so I called the government. It seems that government workers are some of the most absolutely useless retards on the face of the planet, because they didn't know either. Glad to see that our glorious leaders have no fucking clue what they're doing - it means that nothing has really changed lately.

12:49 pm - Sportster Dreams Can Come True
Regarding that last post I made of my dream bike, that beautiful (but ultimately just too expensive) Yamaha MT-01:

Damn, that's still a gorgeous piece of machinery, but it'll have to wait for a while. I just agreed to buy my stepdad's HD Sportster 883 from him. At least now I'll be able to wear my Harley shirts without feeling somewhat like a poseur.

I guess I should sell the other one...how much is an '06 Kawasaki KLR650 worth, anyway? Meh - it's not that important...I can't wait to ride a Harley!

It looks a great deal like this:

It'd only be maybe another 7 grand on top of what my bike is worth (around 3). If the whole school thing doesn't work out....well, we'll see.
